Former Disney Chief set to take over Tribune Company

Michael Eisner, who, you may recall, is the former CEO of the Walt Disney Company, has been drafted to run the financially troubled Tribune Company by bankers who aim to take over the company from its current leaders. Eisner, who has been active in online media companies since leaving Disney is expected to help recover as much of the bank’s investments as possible by moving the Tribune Company into new profit areas. Among its properties , Tribune owns a TV station in Los Angeles, and papers in Orlando and Los Angeles, both big Disney territories

One day during my internet “wanderings” I noticed an interesting advertisement at the top of a page I was reading. It had the Disney logo on it, but for something I’d never heard of, a branch of the company called “D’Think.” Curious, I clicked on the ad to find out more about it.

We’re now just 7 days away from the end of my Dispatch from Disneyland book crowd funding project over on Kickstarter. The initial goal has been reached, but there is a lot more that can be done with the book than what this minimal funding level will allow. Everything from illustration, audio books, ebooks and other ideas are on my list of upgrades that will be added as additional pledges are made.

The contestants for the 2011 Miss America pageant were in Orlando to observe the Miss Teen American competition, so what better to do than visit Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom. While there, they ran into Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, and a couple of Princesses – Belle and Cinderella. I think Mickey is enjoying the attention just a little too much
