A few years before Pirates Of The Caribbean went into production, a rumor went around that Disney Studios was actively looking at Disneyland’s attractions for possible movie properties. Multiple scripts were written for a Haunted Mansion movie before that horrible one was finally made.

Tony Curtis RIP

Sad news this morning that Tony Curtis has died at the age of 85. Disney fans will remember his movie “40 Pounds of Trouble” from 1962, which featured a great chase scene filmed inside Disneyland. I like to watch it for the continuity errors

John Lasseter on Toy Story Playland at Paris Disneyland Resort

A video from DLRPfans.be (Belgium I believe) of John Lasseter talking about Toy Story Playland addition to the Walt Disney Studios park at Disneyland Paris Resort This is the first time I’ve seen footage from the new land. It’s interesting how these off the shelf rides are so much better themed than what was originally built at California Adventure (or Dinoland at DAK, take your pick). Probably not that much more expensive to do it right the first time

No Ordinary Family – Episode 1 Recap

Ed Note : Please welcome back Mark Baker who will be recapping No Ordinary Family on ABC the season (or as long as it lasts)…. When the new falls shows were being announced, the first one that caught my attention was ABC’s No Ordinary Family. While I don’t read comic books, I love a good superhero story as much as the next guy.

New image from Tangled revealed – Mother Gothel

A newly released first image of Mother Gothel (voiced by Donna Murphy) from Disney’s next feature animated film, Tangled, has just been released. Be sure to follow the film’s Facebook fan page where even more artwork from the film has been released. Tangled weaves its way into theaters beginning November 24, 2010 (probably sooner in NY and LA although I haven’t seen an official announcement)

Disney Hilton has a new owner – Hilton

For nearly the last 30 years Tishman Hotels owned the Disney Hilton at Downtown Disney.  They have now sold it to Hilton Worldwide who has been operating the hotel and, which, in turn, is owned by the Blackstone Group, who has partial ownership of Universal Orlando and owns all of SeaWorld Parks. Cue It’s a Small World. Tishman will continue to own the Swan & Dolphin Hotels operated under the Starwood brand
