The Walt Disney Company to Donate up to $3.5 Million to Japan Recovery Effort

The Walt Disney Company has had a presence in Japan almost 30 years and the animation products produced by Walt Disney have a huge following in Japan. So to say there is a lot of goodwill between the Disney legacy and the people of Japan is an understatement. It’s terrific to see the Disney company and its employees reach out to make a sizable donation to help the people of Japan in their time of emergency.

Magic Music Days: No Big Effect on American Idol

It’s Magic Music Days right now at Walt Disney World, which means one thing: I had high hopes for the American Idol Experience finale tonight! After all, with singers and choirs galore in the kingdom, surely great singers would be at Idol. My first thought: anyone hoping for an easier shot at the Golden Ticket should avoid the Magic Music Days season

Marketing There’s still more news coming from Disney’s American Idol Experience this week. A commercial for the attraction ran during tonight’s airing of American Idol. The tagline was “You can be part of the next Cinderella Story”, which is the same message they’re using on billboards around town

It’s American Idol, so the red carpet has turned to blue, but the star studded interviews as just as good as if this was the real Hollywood instead of Disney’s magical version. Ryan Seacrest, Paula Abdul, David Cook, Carrie Underwood, Fantasia, Kimberly Locke, and Bucky Covington, all share a bit about why bringing the American Idol Experience to Disney’s Hollywood Studios is so magical. As I sit back and think about the year that was 2008, it makes me wonder how 2009 will develop. I am particularly curious about what will happen to my favorite place on Earth in 2009. Given the slow economy, I am not as optimistic about big changes as I might typically be, however, we can all dream.
