Michael Giacchino to compose Star Tours soundtrack

LaughingPlace.com has some interesting news about the changes coming to the popular Star Tours attraction. Pixar and Lost composer and Academy Award winner Michael Giacchino will be scoring the soundtrack for Star Tours: The Adventures Continue, the new version of the attraction coming in 2011. Apparently Giacchino is a fan of the attraction.

When you evacuate an attraction, how long should it take?

The 911 tape for the heavily reported on Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey evacuation has been released . On it, one of the ride’s passengers claims they had been kept waiting 15 minutes in an uncomfortable position without any notice from ride attendants when help would come. Leaving aside how accurate the 15 minute claim was, I think the incident poses an interesting question to consider

Great Piggy Bank Adventure Coming to EPCOT Center’s Innoventions

The one exhibit at Walt Disney World’s EPCOT Center that’s closest to the original spirit of the 1955 version Tomorrowland is Innoventions. In 1954 Walt Disney didn’t even start construction on Tomorrowland until 6 months were left until opening.

Test Track Sponsorship heading for a crash?

As I sat last week watching CNN and listening to the woes of GM, I thought to myself, “It’s only a matter of time before they stop sponsoring Test Track.” After reading the Orlando Sentinel today, it appears that time may be coming much quicker than I expected. The 10 year contract between Disney and GM expires this year

The Monster Sound Show remembered

The opening of the American Idol attraction got me to thinking about how much the Studios has changed over the years. I remember back in the early days when the Studios were actually working studios and a lot of the attractions aimed to teach us how movies and television were made

Even More American Idol Experience…

Marketing There’s still more news coming from Disney’s American Idol Experience this week. A commercial for the attraction ran during tonight’s airing of American Idol. The tagline was “You can be part of the next Cinderella Story”, which is the same message they’re using on billboards around town
