Will London Harry Potter exhibit slow Universal Orlando’s growth?

There is little doubt Universal Orlando’s Wizarding World of Harry Potter addition was the main driver behind the park’s reported 20% attendance growth and a profit of $261 million, which is more than the estimated cost for the whole addition. While it’s unlikely Universal Orlando will continue on that same trajectory of growth, it will continue to improve over last year as WWoHP wasn’t even open for the 1st quarter of 2010

Fantasyland Expansion impact on Magic Kingdom will be huge

The Disney Parks blog recently announced that February 11, 2011 will be the last day to visit Mickey’s Toontown Fair. That’s nice information to have for those planning vacations. Unfortunately, you really have to plan more than 6 months out these days just to get the good dining reservations

John Lasseter on Toy Story Playland at Paris Disneyland Resort

A video from DLRPfans.be (Belgium I believe) of John Lasseter talking about Toy Story Playland addition to the Walt Disney Studios park at Disneyland Paris Resort This is the first time I’ve seen footage from the new land. It’s interesting how these off the shelf rides are so much better themed than what was originally built at California Adventure (or Dinoland at DAK, take your pick). Probably not that much more expensive to do it right the first time

Remember when I talked about Disney’s new fan club D23, and couldn’t decide whether or not to join? The price of membership was a little high, and I was mostly interested in the earlier and cheaper ticket benefits D23 members get for the D23 Disney convention.

Who is Mama Melrose?

I was listening to the WDW Radio Show last week and Lou did a review of one of my favorite Hollywood Studios restaurants, Mama Melrose’s. Mama Melrose had been on my list to do a “Who is…” segment and, what do you know, Lou did an interview on his segment that provided me with the information to answer the question.
