After the success of The Lion King 3D in theaters, Disney is expanding the run of Beauty and the Beast 3D as well. That’s good news for sure. Beauty and the Beast was my ‘renaissance’ film and re-ignited my love for Disney animation.

Alice in Wonderland 60th Anniversary Edition Blu-ray

Walt Disney’s 1951 take on Lewis Carroll’s Alice in Wonderland makes its high definition debut on Blu-ray Disc (BD) tomorrow, February 1st, in a 2-disc “60th Anniversary Edition” Blu-ray/DVD combo pack. Alice in Wonderland is flawlessly presented in 1080p high definition, with a “Full Screen” 1:33:1 (4:3) aspect ratio. The richness of the colors is magnificent.

RIP Tom Bosley, originated Maurice in Broadway’s Beauty and the Beast

Pretty much all of Hollywood has chimed in with fond memories of Tom Bosley who died today at 83.

Beauty and the Beast 3D theater release pushed back

A blog at the Hollywood Reporter talks about why it’s probably a good move for Disney to push back the theater release of the 3D upgrade to Beauty and The Beast. For one thing, they’re just releasing the 2D version on Blu-ray for the first time in October

Aulani is name of Disney’s Hawaii Resort at Ko Olina.

Disney just announced the name of their Hawaiian Resort and for good measure, launched a web site as well. Aulani, a Disney Resort & Spa, Ko Olina, Hawai‘i conveys the connection of the new resort to the islands. The new resort is scheduled to open Fall 2011.

Walt Disney Studios outlines its portion of D23 EXPO

The Walt Disney Studios has released a very exciting slate of sessions, screenings, and previews for the inaugural D23 EXPO. Guests at the Anaheim Convention Center will see the US Premier of the first two “Toy Story” films in their new 3D format plus digitally restored versions of the Walt Disney Animated Classic “Snow White” and proto-cyber classic “TRON”. Of course previews of all upcoming films will be included
