All the adjustments in policy and procedures have already been made, employees disciplined, OSHA fines levied , and the family’s lawsuit settled . All that we have been waiting for is the final federal investigation’s Accident Report

Typhoon Lagoon Parking Lot Cast Member Injured by Hit and Run

The Orlando Sentinel reports that a 48-year old cast member of Disney’s water park Typhoon Lagoon was hit by a Jeep while working in the parking lot. The driver of the Jeep left the scene and is now the subject of a hit-and-run investigation with possible charges pending. The Disney cast member was taken to the hospital with non life-threatening injuries, but obviously serious enough to warrant a trip to the hospital.

Family details complaints about Monorails in Lawsuit

Florida Today has the complaint from the family of the cast member killed in last summer’s monorail accident. From Disney’s perspective it’s a chain of bad luck that resulted in tragedy, from the family’s perspective, it’s pretty damning. In newly filed court papers, the family claims the monorail cockpit Wuennenberg was riding in had “virtually no bracing or frame support whatsoever”

When you evacuate an attraction, how long should it take?

The 911 tape for the heavily reported on Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey evacuation has been released . On it, one of the ride’s passengers claims they had been kept waiting 15 minutes in an uncomfortable position without any notice from ride attendants when help would come. Leaving aside how accurate the 15 minute claim was, I think the incident poses an interesting question to consider

Electrician at ESPN WWOS dies after injury

Today is another sad day at the Walt Disney World resort. An employee of the Disney owned Buena Vista Construction Company was working on providing power to a stage outside the entrance to the ESPN Wide World of Sports complex when he suffered severe injuries by electric shock.
