Disney World Donates Green and Greens to Second Harvest

The winter holidays are typically the toughest times for food banks and this year the demand is higher than ever. So it’s great to see Walt Disney World and its cast step up to make a big donation and a pledge of continued support to one of the great food banks here in Central Florida. Yesterday, Minnie Mouse joined Disney VoluntEARS to deliver bushels of green to Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida in the form of a $500,000 gift for the organization’s expansion.

Project XL: Fans celebrate Walt Disney World’s 40th Anniversary

I’ve attended a number of fan organized celebrations and conventions in the past. However, none had access to the parks like WDWCelebrations has been able to get. That’s due in part to the nature of their events they work with Disney to make sure there is a low impact on the parks while still offering the best experience for the fans.

Disney Grants Help Kids Shine in 2011; Funds Available for Eligible Local Non-Profits

Throughout the holiday season and all year long, Walt Disney World Resort works in tandem with charities throughout Central Florida to build better futures for local children. As the new year approaches, now is the time for those charities to apply for financial support available to eligible local non-profits through the 2011 Disney Helping Kids Shine Grants program. Disney has really been expanding this program lately and it’s made a big difference for some local charities.

Jan Stratton, Universal and Orlando has lost a star

The community of Orlando has lost one of its real stars. The Orlando Sentinel reports that Jan Stratton was pronounced dead at ORMC tonight. My heart felt condolences go out to her husband Jack Cudworth and their children.

Holiday Hoopla?

In my opinion, the fan organized group WDW Celebrations is one of the great things going on at Walt Disney World right now. They organize great events, usually for a very affordable amount, around big days at Disney’s famous theme parks

Survivor Reunion visits Discovery Cove

Former participants and winners from Survivor, Amazing Race, and Big Brother assemble at SeaWorld’s Discovery Cove A large group of past winners, heroes and villains of Survivor got together at Discovery Cove in Orlando for a day of outwitting, outplaying, outlasting and out-and-out relaxing. Discovery Cove focuses on providing the type of memories you can only get by up close and personal visits with marine life and other animals

Disneyland Cast Members Flashback, Giveback

Disneyland resort Cast Members slid on their dancing shoes and combined team building and talent through Flashback , an annual production that brings together diverse groups of Cast Members to raise money for a local charity. This year’s recipient is the Santa Ana Zoo.
