A couple hundred Disney cast members, a bevy of specially invited press, hundreds of members of the public, and a few rather large rodents, greeted the arrival to Florida of the newest ship in the Disney Cruise Line fleet this morning – The Disney Dream. Port Canaveral will be the home port for the ship that has been under construction for nearly two-years in Papenburg, Germany

A couple hundred Disney cast members, a bevy of specially invited press, hundreds of members of the public, and a few rather large rodents, greeted the arrival to Florida of the newest ship in the Disney Cruise Line fleet this morning – The Disney Dream. For the most part The Dream will sail three, four, and five night cruises to the Bahamas.

Click for larger version I guess technically there aren’t any sails (although wouldn’t that be cool) however, The Disney Dream, Disney Cruise Line’s newest ship, was photographed sailing under her own power in open water Nov. 13, 2010 on the edge of the North Sea in The Netherlands.

What could be a more perfect Stern Character for the Disney Dream than Sorcerer Mickey dreaming while enchanted brooms do the work for him. It’s a classic scene for what will no doubt be one of the classiest ships on the sea. Below is a video from Walt Disney Imagineering of the sculpture in progress
