Disney’s Animal Kingdom to test Guided Trek through Savannah

Disney’s Animal Kingdom theme park has announced it is developing a new, immersive experience that will take small groups of guests on personalized, guided treks through some of the savannah areas of the popular Kilimanjaro Safaris Expedition attraction. During these excursions, guests will be able to spend more time observing wildlife on the savannah while learning about them from a Disney guide.

Illustrator, Designer, and Imagineer Dorothea Redmond died last week. She had quite a career, even before Walt tapped her for WED. Her work on the Disney family apartment in New Orleans Square was recently brought to life in the Dream Suite, although Walt never got to personally experience it.

Disney’s Animal Kingdom welcomes baby Griffon Vultures

Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge welcomed the birth of two Ruppell’s Griffon Vultures earlier this month. They are the first hatchings of this threatened species at Walt Disney World Resort. Each chick weighed less than six ounces and was about eight inches long when hatched.
