Star Tours – The Adventures Continue – my review

Bob Iger, George Lucas, and Anthony Daniels enjoy a first ride on Star Tours after the dedication ceremony When Star Wars Episode One was under production 14 years ago, word leaked out from George Lucas’ Industrial Light and Magic that they were working on a segment, based on the pod-racing segment, that they wanted to use to update Star Tours at Disneyland. At the time I remember thinking that, it was nice to know that someone remembered how Star Tours was designed to be easily updated with new destinations all the time. Alas, nothing happened at the attraction, but there was a new hope in the air.

Star Tours – The Adventures Continues Gala Event

Tonight is the Gala event for the opening of Star Tours – The Adventures Continue. This is the 3D version of the memorable motion simulator attraction based on the Star Wars franchise. As such is blends the two worlds of Disney and George Lucas, which should make for quite the event.

Imagineers talk details of “One Man’s Dream”

When I was a kid Imagineers were this pretty much unknown class of people who worked behind the scenes but never revealed how the magic was made. Well, they’re still not opening up their book of tricks, but they have come out from behind the curtain and are more involved in sharing the details of the works they create.

Star Tours 2.0 Commercial

Dwight Howard meets Chewbacca at Star Tours in Disney’s Hollywood Studios

Although the Orlando Magic’s basketball season washed out in the first round of the playoffs, Dwight Howard (former NBA MVP and ‘superman’ of the court), knew where he wanted to go next – Walt Disney World. Here Howard gets chummy with the only character who can match his stature – Star Wars’ Chewbacca.

Star Wars Weekends Celebrity Appearance List

Disney has announced the celebrity guest list for the 2011 Star Wars Weekend event at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. This will be a particularly big year as it also marks the return of Star Tours with it’s updated, randomized show, featuring new technology and favorite Star Wars characters.

Star Tours 2.0 Return Date Set

I’m definitely looking forward to what Imagineers have done with the motion simulator attraction Star Tours. It will open as part of this year’s Star Wars Weekends at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
