Bastille Day is essentially the French equivalent of Independence Day in the US, at least as far as fireworks displays go. There is definitely a French style to this show. Many people don’t know that Walt Disney Imagineering is one of the leaders in innovation when it comes to fireworks

Progressive Cooking Class for Adults

When some of Downtown Disney’s restaurants offered progressive cooking classes for kids in June, I complained a little bit. I loved the idea for children, but I was jealous that adults weren’t given the same opportunity.

One of the more popular courses offered at the original Disney Institute was the opportunity to get cooking lessons from a Disney chef. That version of the DI is long gone, but the idea of cooking classes is making a come back.

I should have left my big mouth shut, no sooner than I mention that Downtown Disney Orlando had so far escaped the recession without loosing a tenant, than Virgin Megastores announces that all their locations, including the Downtown Disney one, will be closing on May 31st . FoxxFur has posted a retrospective look at Walt Disney World’s Village , listing the initial shops and vendors of Disney’s outdoor shopping mall through to the ones that occupy Downtown Disney Marketplace today

Those who were following my short tweetfest from Downtown Disney last night probably caught my mention of the new look, and lovely scent, of Portobello. The restaurant, which sits between Pleasure Island and the Downtown Disney Marketplace, has recently completed a transformation from the old stuffy ‘Yacht Club’ theme into an eatery reminiscent of the Italian countryside.
