As someone who has never had the opportunity to read Shakespeare’s final masterpiece, “ The Tempest “, I jumped at the chance to watch and review the modern retelling of it on Blu-Ray. Released this September by Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment, the film features many big names, including Helen Mirren ( The Debt , The Queen ), Russell Brand ( Forgetting Sarah Marshall , Get Him To The Greek ), Alfred Molina ( Prince of Persia , An Education ), Alan Cumming (“The Good Wife”, It’s Complicated ), and writer/director Julie Taymor (Broadway’s The Lion King and Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark ). Given the expectations associated with such great names, though, “The Tempest” did not deliver on any account

Disney just announced today that you’ll will be treated to a special 4 minute preview of the first four minutes of The Lion King in its new 3D splendor. That will no doubt be a treat for a whole generation who hasn’t been exposed to The Lion King and those of us who remember it well.

Disney to release ‘Planes’ Direct to DVD in 2013

A few months ago there was some talk of an animated tv show set in the world of Pixar’s Cars but focusing instead on the life of aircraft. Looks like that rumor was almost true. It’s not a TV show, but instead a direct-to-DVD and Blu-Ray release from DisneyToon Studios, Not Pixar or Disney Feature Animation.
