There is a big article in the Orlando Sentinel regarding Disney’s efforts to lobby the state for items it sees as beneficial to tourism in Central Florida. One of those items is a push to keep Las Vegas style casinos out of Florida, a trend which Disney sees as shifting the focus of travel away from families (Disney’s bread and butter) and toward twenty-somethings (a market for which Disney has very little to offer)

While the grand dreams of Garden Grove’s International West project never took flight, some development has proven to be successful in the region south of Disneyland on Harbor Blvd. International West was to be a combination of hotels, business centers, and amusement parks designed to make Harbor Blvd between Highway 22 and the I-5 a corridor of action and, not incidentally, tax revenue for the city

Test Track Sponsorship heading for a crash?

As I sat last week watching CNN and listening to the woes of GM, I thought to myself, “It’s only a matter of time before they stop sponsoring Test Track.” After reading the Orlando Sentinel today, it appears that time may be coming much quicker than I expected. The 10 year contract between Disney and GM expires this year
