Hurricane Irene tracking away from Florida

According to latest National Hurricane Center forecasts Hurricane Irene is tracking east away from Florida. This is likely the last update I’ll make, unless the storm tacks westward, in which case I’ll be back like a bad penny. Already, there are two more potential disturbances in the Atlantic and hurricane season is barely half-way through

Tropical Storm Emily – What you need to know about severe storms while in Orlando

With Tropical Storm Emily’s track shifting slightly west today, it appears that Walt Disney World and the eastern part of the Florida peninsula are likely to encounter high winds and possible severe storms starting Friday and lasting through Saturday. Technically, the forecast includes a cone of possibility that could mean a direct hit for Orlando with strong tropical force winds directly impacting the attractions, but it’s more likely Emily will stay off the east coast of the peninsula providing great waves for surfers and some coastal erosion. Click for larger version I guess technically there aren’t any sails (although wouldn’t that be cool) however, The Disney Dream, Disney Cruise Line’s newest ship, was photographed sailing under her own power in open water Nov. 13, 2010 on the edge of the North Sea in The Netherlands.

Disney-branded chips

Spotted new packaging a couple of weeks ago at Epcot (then subsequently saw it also in other parks as well). Seems Disney now has character branded chips in the parks! Characters have long been slapped on pre-packaged goods
