One of the first things to come out of the D23 EXPO was more details on how the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train coaster that will be the final attraction added to the Magic Kingdom as part of the Fantasyland Expansion. If you didn’t catch this digital simulation of the ride already here it is: I love how this is a new type of coaster, something Disney used to be known for

Castle Topping – Disneyland Paris

A similar video made the rounds a few years ago, but it’s always fun to watch how Imagineering makes the magic. In this case it’s the “Castle Topping” ceremony when the highest spire of The Chateau de la Belle au Bois Dormant (Sleeping Beauty Castle) was lifted into place on August 2, 1991. Last time I was in Paris was July 1991, I was just a bit too early to visit Euro-Disneyland.

I’ve been holding off on posting about the new Haunted Mansion interactive queue hoping I could get over there and see it in person. Unfortunately, I’ve been under the weather lately, so visiting the Magic Kingdom isn’t an option

Big Changes coming to Disney World’s Haunted Mansion

We’ve known for some time that an interactive queue is coming to the Haunted Mansion, we even knew that Imagineers were playing around with replacing the Hitchhiking Ghosts with digital projections, but now we have video evidence of what those changes may look like. One thing’s for sure, Disney’s Imagineers have a bunch of new toys and they’re not afraid to use them. Ricky over at Inside the Magic has more details on what’s coming (or already here perhaps).

Some of my favorite video footage from Disneyland is the time-lapse footage of the park under construction. Since Disneyland, the Disney Imagineers have made a habit of installing special time-lapse cameras to observe most of their other projects. The one pointed at Aulani, a Disney Resort & Spa, in Ko Olinia, Hawai`i has been snapping away since 2008.

Suicides are becoming a growing problem at Disneyland Paris. One is a tragedy, two is a coincidence, but three is a trend. Even if the first two were never directly associated with their work at Disneyland Paris, the perception is there
