Lost Oswald The Lucky Rabbit film Discovered, Will Be Auctioned

The linchpin of Walt Disney’s creative genius was that even when faced with the sort of loss that would devastate most people, he never gave up. Walt’s biggest creative loss was when Charles Mintz stole away the rights to Oswald The Lucky Rabbit (and most of Walt’s animators). The creative juices inspired in Walt by that crisis gave us Mickey Mouse and the rest of the Walt Disney pantheon of characters

Two New Videos of Talking Mickey

On Halloween, Disney released an official video  of Mickey Mouse talking to guests at Town Square Theater. It appears that Disney is still testing this new form of interactivity, as guest-made videos are now starting to appear. It’s nice to see that Mickey’s interactions are still spot on even without the “filter” of the official parks blog; he barely misses a beat! Take a look for yourself: One more from our friends at Touring Plans below the jump: Two New Videos of Talking Mickey originally posted on The Disney Blog - Disney News and Information — by fans, for fans Domain Sale! $7.49 .com at GoDaddy

Talking Mickey Mouse Walk-Around Visits Magic Kingdom

The much debated talking Mickey Mouse paid a visit to Town Square Theater at the Magic Kingdom yesterday. The articulated character interacts and talks to guests, which is often quite a surprise to guests who are used to a silent, pantomime based communication method.

Aulani Grand Opening Ceremony Video

I was fortunate enough to be the guest of Disney for the opening of Aulani, a Disney Resort & Spa in Ko Olina, Hawai’i. The place is fantastic. Before the trip I wasn’t sure whether or not the magic of Hawai’i needed a touch of Disney’s, but the fit is seamless

Mickey Welcomes NASA Astronauts to The Disney Studios for Special Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Screening

Walt Disney’s fascination with outer space has been evident since the 1955 Disneyland episode “Man In Space” and the X1 attraction at Disneyland. So it’s nice to see Disney keep up the tradition with a special space themed Mickey Mouse Clubhouse special. Yesterday, Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse welcomed NASA astronauts Chris Ferguson, Doug Hurley, Sandy Magnus and Rex Walheim to The Disney Studios in Burbank, CA where they greeted kids from the East Los Angeles Boys & Girls Club and gave a special presentation on their final space shuttle mission before the kids enjoyed a preview screening of Disney Junior’s new “Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Space Adventure” special premiering on Disney Channel Monday, September 12

Tokyo DisneySea – Big Band Beat

We frequently highlighted Disney performer Jarrod Lentz’s tweets from Japan during the days and weeks after the quake that closed Tokyo DisneySea and Tokyo Disneyland. Lentz was one of Disney’s stateside performers who was rehearsing for a show at TDS when the quake struck

The Original Mickey, Volume One

According to an article recently posted by the Christian Science Monitor , Mickey Mouse is about to have a “new” series released about his life as an action hero. This series is a comic strip, started in the 1930′s, that depicts Mickey’s mischievous on-screen nature in a method that Disney had always dreamed of doing himself
