It’s been a year since the tragic events that led to the death of SeaWorld trainer Dawn Brancheau during an interactive session with a killer whale after a ‘Dine with Shamu’ show. During that time trainers have been kept out of the water both during shows and backstage having to do all their work either from the side of the pool or in very shallow water. Now some in water interaction will be re-introduced , but only in the medical pool that features a bottom which rises and drops to facilitate health inspection behaviors with the killer whales

Unfortunately SeaWorld Orlando’s Manta Roller Coaster did stop with passengers stuck 100ft in the air . All guests were evacuated safely and the ride has returned to operation

We’re undergoing a bit of a cold snap here in Central Florida, but this is nothing compared to the conditions at Cape Cod Bay in Massachusetts. SeaWorld Orlando has just received 20 highly-endangered Kemp’s Ridley Sea Turtles that were rescued from the bay and will care for them while they recover from hypothermia, pneumonia, and severe-dehydration.
