There’s a story in the Orlando Sentinel this morning about a ride-stop and subsequent guest evacuation on the new Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey attraction at Universal Orlando’s Islands of Adventure park. Ride-stops and walk-offs happen all the time at theme parks, particularly with new attractions, so this wouldn’t be a story, except for a this time a guest called 911

Disney’s Animal Kingdom theme park has announced it is developing a new, immersive experience that will take small groups of guests on personalized, guided treks through some of the savannah areas of the popular Kilimanjaro Safaris Expedition attraction. During these excursions, guests will be able to spend more time observing wildlife on the savannah while learning about them from a Disney guide.

Disney Legend Marty Sklar has been honored by the Walt Disney Company at the Ryman Arts Foundation with a fund in his name.Nearly $400,000 in contributions from Disney and individual donors will endow and entire class of art students at Ryman Arts. Ryman Arts, together with The Walt Disney Company, announced the completion of a major grant that creates the Marty Sklar Legacy Fund, honoring the 54-year career and retirement of Sklar. Amid a tough economic climate prompting closure of a number of art programs in public schools across Los Angeles, the Fund will help ensure a quality arts education for a new class of Ryman Arts scholars
