Bob Iger will depart as Disney CEO in 2015

In an announcement that seems a bit out of the blue, CEO of The Walt Disney Company Bob Iger announced he will step down from that role in 2015 and leave the company entirely in 2016. At that point Iger will have been CEO for just about 10 years and be just 63 years old. He’s a very young looking 60 today.

Promotions Shake Up Disney Parks & Resorts under Tom Staggs

In a long internal memo today, Tom Staggs made official the organizational shakeup everyone knew was coming after Staggs took over the Walt Disney Parks and Resorts division. Disneyland Cast Members Help Community Build New KaBOOM! Playground in Anaheim

In a project that finished today, nearly 300 volunteers from the local community, Disneyland and other Disney VoluntEARs, city of Anaheim, Thomas Edison Elementary School and Anaheim Family YMCA united to build a new KaBOOM! playground and learning garden for hundreds of Anaheim children. The new learning garden at nearby Thomas Edison Elementary School will teach children how to grow vegetables, expanding their knowledge of healthy food and nutrition. The new playground, which was based on designs created by the children it will serve, was fully assembled in two days.
