Disneyland and Hotel Union End Contentious Strike

The long running contentious battle between Disneyland and the Unite Here Local 11 union has come to an end. A new five year agreement shows a little compromise by both sides, but the union did have to make a concession on one of its largest issues, the price of health care for its members

Disney World Union takes offensive

After it’s members rejected a Disney proposal that would have resulted in a choice of either less healthcare coverage or lower wages, the Services Trade Council, which represents 20,000 of the 60,000 WDW cast members, has come out with a movie that explains the trap cast members are in. MouseTrapped 2010 had a showing earlier tonight, but as far as I can tell, it’s not on the net.

Union in Dispute with Disneyland Ups the Ante with Risky Flyer

A few days ago members of the Unite HERE Local 11 were reportedly seen handing out flyers near Disneyland. Normally this would be an acceptable behavior for a union that is in a three year dispute with the theme park and resort over benefits, working conditions, and wages for its members. But this time they may have gone a step too far

Disney World Cast Members Reject Disney’s Contract Proposal

Members of the unions representing 20,000 of Disney World’s 60,000 workers rejected a contract offer from the Walt Disney World resort today.

Negotiations for new Labor Agreement underway at Disney World

With it’s sister property Disneyland in the middle of a three year dispute with Unite Here, one of its dozen or so labor unions, Walt Disney World has come to the table to negotiate a new contract.
