Witherspoon to Star in New Disney Comedy, “Wish List”

Pirates 4: Finds additional treasure box office, #1 again internationally

Update : The figures from The Hollywood Reporter appear to be international numbers. Domestically the box office was only $39 million which is only good for 3rd place

TRON: Next

So multiple sources are reporting that Disney has greenlit a script for a Tron: Legacy Sequel. This would be the 2nd or 3rd film in the series, depending on if you count the first film (and I think you should).

Disney’s Superbowl Ads

Disney showed off new trails for three of its up coming films during the Superbowl. Of course there was Pirates of the Caribbean 4: On Stranger Tides: But there were also two Marvel Studios films. Since Disney now owns, Marvel, let’s include these as Disney even if Buena Vista is not doing the distribution.

Secretariat: A Second Opinion

I’ll be honest, I didn’t know what to expect going into Secretariat . Disney seems to be marketing this film as though it’s The Blind Side (But with a Horse) , and as though it’s absolutely nothing like The Other Very Successful Racehorse Movie that Starts with S and Ends with T . The truth is, Secretariat is neither of those things – it’s a sports movie, pure and simple

I’ve just returned from a late-Thursday screening of Secretariat (opens today) and I am pumped! The story of the Triple Crown -winning “Big Red” —and, more pointedly, the people who believed in him— makes for the most invigorating movie of 2010 so far. In a way, it’s like The Blind Side with a horse. Human emotions are provided by Secretariat ’s owner Penny Chenery, played effortlessly by Diane Lane
