One of the favorite stories my father likes to tell about my childhood relates to Winnie the Pooh. When I was young I loved that silly old bear and watched all of my relevant VHS tapes diligently.

I was pleasantly surprised at how good a job Disney did bringing back the classic Winnie the Pooh characters in the 2011 Summer theatrical release of “Winnie The Pooh.” If their goal was to closely duplicate the animated films Walt Disney was making in the late ’50s and early ’60s, they met their mark. At the same time, the story and characters received slight tweaks making it more accessible for today’s audiences

Disney’s Animated Films Place 4th at the Box Office

Ok, that headline is a bit misleading, Cars 2 actually placed 5th and Winnie the Pooh placed 6th. But if you add them up they would come in 4th place in a weekend where Harry Potter sucked up almost all the theater admissions with his magical spell. Still, I am at a loss to see how Disney, with two feature animation studios, can’t figure out the release schedule so as not to overlap their own movies, let alone the 800 lb.

Tigger gets down and does the Cat Daddy

Can someone remind me, if Goofy is a dog, then what is Tigger? All we know now is that Tigger is one cool cat. This video shot at Disneyland shows a couple of DJs from Arizona showing Tigger a few moves, then Tigger surprises them by busting out his own moves.
